Addressing the #GenderGaps in a Post-Pandemic World: Policy Shifts and Priorities
India has implemented many laws and programmes to promote gender equity in various spheres of life. While several indicators of women’s agency, literacy, health and economic status have undoubtedly improved over the years, challenges persist. Entrenched patriarchal mindsets, inequitable development and the sheer diversity of beliefs and customs that exist in India have slowed progress. Slow progress on gender equality, of course, greatly hampers the progress of society as a whole. This talk will explore governance mechanisms that can strengthen existing gender-related legislation and policies as well as highlight additional measures which could help accelerate progress India towards becoming a truly gender equal country.

The Biden Presidency and the future of America’s ‘forever wars’
New administrations in Washington always raise questions on where US foreign policy is headed. Despite 19 years of U.S. intervention in the Middle East, a clear path forward—or out—remains unclear.
