Welcome to this week’s Policy Opportunities update. There are several strong openings in North America this week, including a Senior Program Manager at New America. There is also an opening for a Prosperity Researcher at a well-established tank in London as well as a Forums Coordinator role at ORF. There are a couple of quality internships across several continents too. It is always good to keep up to speed with what is on offer in the policy space!

Senior Program Associate - New America Chicago
New America Chicago seeks an organized Senior Program Associate to coordinate the Chicago office on a part-time basis. This position will be responsible for helping implement the new policy lab initiative developed by the team leads. The Senior Program Associate will coordinate the operations of the community policy lab and support occasional events and communications for the Chicago office. This will include working directly with the community to recruit participants, and schedule and help conduct interviews, polling, and policy design sessions. The team member will be relied upon to engage community members in ways that are respectful of their unique expertise. Previous experience with user experience research, social science research, project management, and/or communications will be useful in this position. The ideal candidate will have a personal experience with poverty, familiarity with Black and Brown communities, and/or the South and West sides of Chicago.

Senior Director/Director, International Climate Policy
CAP is seeking a Senior Director/Director of International Climate Policy to lead the Energy and Environment Policy team’s work to develop and execute a program to drive international ambition and action toward the objectives of the Paris Climate Agreement. They will work to identify and develop American Progress’ initiatives, programs, and research opportunities to advocate for an ambitious U.S. posture in international climate diplomacy. A substantial portion of that work will be focused on developing partnerships and programs with foreign counterparts, both in government and in the research and policy advocacy fields.

The MP-IDSA Internship Program is highly competitive and especially useful for young students who have completed a first degree in any discipline relevant to the work of MP-IDSA. Internships ideally last for a period of not less than six months and can be extended to a year on mutual agreement. Candidates must possess a minimum of a Masters degree in a relevant discipline. Those pursuing the final year of a Masters degree may also apply. Interns are required to contribute to the management of assigned projects, write summaries of events, assist in administrative work, edit documents and web content, and perform other duties as assigned.
