Research Assistant, Women’s Economic Security
The Research Assistant assists the Women’s Initiative team by providing research support as needed, primarily on topics related to women’s economic security issues including equal pay and the gender wage gap, paid leave, gender-based employment discrimination such as sexual harassment, and other gender-based barriers to women’s advancement in the workplace. This position calls for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsible individual on whom the policy staff of the Women’s Initiative can rely to work independently and deliver high-quality administrative and research support, including quantitative analysis. Successful research assistants will demonstrate an ability to multitask, set priorities in a fast-paced environment, and manage important communications on behalf of the team. The candidate will assist by analyzing datasets, summarizing research, reviewing legislation and doing research that can shed light on racial, ethnic, and other differences among women.

The Research department of the Clingendael Institute is currently looking for a talented, highly motivated intern to support research activities on EU policies. The Research Department consists of Research units on the EU & Global affairs, Security and Conflict and Fragility. Your work will take place mainly in the context of a) a variety of projects Clingendael conducts for the Netherlands’ MFA/MoD on the functioning of the EU (internal market, institutional affairs, position of the Netherlands in the EU) and EU Neighbourhood and Enlargement Policies, and b) the Clingendael Balkan Hub, a project in which Clingendael engages with think tanks from the Western Balkans in joint research and activities on a variety of issues related to EU-Western Balkans relations.
