Welcome to this week’s Policy Opportunities update. This week there are more openings in Europe than normal. Most of these, however, are due to close early next week, so be sure to move quickly if you’re looking for a job at a European tank. There are also a number of tanks looking for senior program managers and directors. As per usual, several tanks are advertising more than one vacancy, so make sure to search the site thoroughly and apply to all positions of interest. NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR DEMOCRACY - WASHINGTON DC, USA

Program Officer or Assistant Program Officer
The National Endowment for Democracy is a federally funded, private, nonprofit grantmaking organization that works to support freedom around the world. The Assistant Program Officer or Program Officer will work with the Asia team leadership to monitor and assess projects in Southeast Asia, especially in Thailand and the Philippines. The officer will work closely with a range of regional activists focused on the media, human rights, rule of law, conflict resolution, civic education and other areas; monitor the implementation of NED-approved projects and evaluate the effectiveness and the institutional growth of NED grantees by analyzing reports, providing feedback, managing communication, conducting regular field visits and producing written content that offers funding recommendations to NED leadership.

Associate Directors - three positions
The European Policy Centre is an independent, not-for-profit think tank dedicated to fostering European integration, supporting and challenging decision-makers and providing a platform for engaging in EU policy-making. EPC seeks three Associate Directors to lead on cross-cutting policy areas, including managing analysts working on projects and coordinating activities across EPC programmes. One will be an expert in the political economy of the EU (including the economic and social agenda); one will be on the EU’s external policies, and one on EU institutions & governance. They will be part of the management team, working with the Chief Executive and the Director of Studies to set and implement the EPC’s strategic direction.
